Wine-red hardcover embossed “Master Thesis” in silver from our copyshop

The Master's thesis is often the most extensive work of your studies — more pages, more appendices, more copies. That's exactly what we're here for: we print and bind your thesis so its volume becomes a strength, not a problem.

Binding: substance that matches the degree

For Master's theses the embossed hardcover is the standard — especially thicker works look most assured in it, and it survives any bookshelf. Embossing comes in gold or silver: “Master Thesis” in English or German, plus your name, university and title on request. And you choose the cover color — dark blue, wine red or black, for example. The perfect binding also handles many pages cleanly and slimly if your examination regulations allow it. All binding types are compared in our binding guide.

Several copies? No problem.

Examination office, first and second reviewers, your own shelf and one for your parents: multiple copies are the rule for Master's theses — at the University of Jena, for example, faculties require three bound copies plus a PDF (your examination regulations are binding — when in doubt, ask your examination office). Tell us the number — we produce every copy in consistent quality. An overview of what Thuringia's universities require is in our guide on thesis submission in Thuringia.

Frequently asked questions

Which binding suits a Master's thesis?

As with the Bachelor's, the embossed hardcover is the standard – especially for larger theses it looks most substantial. Our perfect binding also handles many pages cleanly.

I need several copies – possible?

Yes, just tell us how many – examination office, supervisors and a copy for your own shelf, we'll plan them together.

Is there a student discount?

Yes, there is – just bring your student ID. With the discount, printing costs no more than at the university.

How many copies does the university require?

Your examination regulations decide – at the University of Jena, for example, faculties require three bound copies plus a PDF for Master's theses. The Thuringia overview is in our submission guide.

How do I submit my file?

As a PDF with embedded fonts via our contact form – we check every file before printing. If your thesis with all its figures is larger than 3 MB, send it as a link (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer); our guide to sending large files shows how to set sharing correctly.

Are there binding requirements?

Sometimes yes: certain chairs – in Jena, for example – exclude ring binding and require hardcover, softcover or perfect binding. We bind exactly to your regulations; the overview is in our submission guide.
